Preserving Emirati Traditions

Emirati Sports come from the traditional Bedouin which represents the UAE national identity. To avoid losing the national identity , Emiratis must show tourists our traditions and hire Emirati instructors to educate our students in these traditions. Some of youth still have their national heritage, A group of students used their final-year project to educate themselves and others about Emirati traditions which represents Emirati identity. This group create a short movie showing native UAE sports. They wanted to educate and focus on traditions to save UAE national identity. The dhow, camel, saluki and horse racing with falconry were ways to survive in the past. Extracting pearls for marketing is promoted from pearl diving. Nowadays, all GCC states deny  hunting to preserve wild life, but it's open for a short period.The Emiratis people will never let their traditions disappear.

Reflection 1




I'm Hesham AlRashedi , I had a good experience in Academic reading and writing subject . I will examine this experience in my essay .


Through seven weeks I have learned a lot of things about Academic reading and writing . One of these is how to make a blog in google blogger which we used it to show our work in the begging it was hard for me to edit and post I used my teacher "How to use blogger " book it was amazing and helpful . Another experience is that I started writing summary in bad but now my ability grows . Further more I used BBlearn it is a great source helps in vocabulary .


In the future we will start writing essay. I hope all of student get good marks . This was my experience thank you.

Houbara bustards
                     In Morocco take of small chicks to show their soft.The numbers of houbara declined because of outlawed hunting. The article details that the Emirates Center for Wild life Propagation is continuing it's efforts to maintain houbara from extinction. There are two stations built in Missour and Enjil to prevent houbara decline. There are new plans to release 15000 birds instead of 12000 per season. The breeding season starts in spring.The birds are chosen for breeding before they hatched.  The auther describes that ,"Even petting the newly hatched birds has a purpose..."( Todorova, V. 2011). They train birds to be familiar with humans ,while the others kept the wild behavior for wild life. The houbara which are chosen for release are kept covered with cloth in wired cages for period of time then they released. After hunting season more than half survive. The number of birds increase so the program success .
